Get Plugged In!

Minnesota State Coordinator: Toni Backdahl

Welcome Fellow Patriot!

My job as Tea Party Patriot State Coordinator is to make sure you are in the loop. There are several types of Tea Party Patriots and several ways to get involved. Below is a list of just a few:

1) A Participant – contact your local organizer
2) An Event Volunteer – contact your local organizer
3) Leadership Volunteer – contact your state coord or local organizer
4) Organizer of Events – contact your state coordinator
5) Organizer of a geographical area (neighborhood, city, district, county) – contact your state coordinator
6) Blogger (established or newcomer) – contact your state coordinator

There are many national and local conservative groups out there and I applaud all of them! But to be clear, the Tea Party Patriots is a non-partisan group that focuses on limited government, free markets and fiscal responsibility.

The tea party goers are a mix from all walks of life and political parties. Yes, believe it or not! Don’t be discouraged if you see a group pop up that has a title specific to their special interest. Focus on what you believe your community is lacking and fill in the gap. Join or create a group that fits your values and local conservative needs. YOUR VOICE MUST BE HEARD!

Thank you so much for all that you do, as a fellow American, I am humbled. You are doing this for you and our country and for whatever reason you are compelled, THANK YOU! What you do helps others know that they are NOT ALONE!

Thanks for being a part of this very important movement toward TRUTH in GOVERNMENT!

TEA PARTY PATRIOTS -GET INVOLVED

The number one asked question is What’s Next?  We are still a few and we need to become many!  We need people like you to take on a roll in your local community and help fill in the gaps of our coalition!  The more people we have the more breaks and less burn out potential of our very loyal and hard working volunteers!

TEA PARTY PATRIOTS – WHO WE ARE

Tea Party Patriots is a non partisan grassroots organization that is centered around supporting the individual tea parties throughout Minnesota and the nation. We share the common core values of tea party participants throughout the nation: Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Government and Free Markets. The Tea Party Patriots mission is to bring together like-minded individuals, educate and inform others about the core values and to secure public policy and elected officials consistent with those values.

The Tea Party Movement was created spontaneously by patriots across the nation who joined together to say “Enough!” and it is those patriots unified around a common message that will help keep the government of America limited and fiscally sound. Thank you for joining us and we are excited to work together.

If you are interested in a tea party in your city, contact the Minnesota State Coordinator:Toni Backdahl

TEA PARTY PATRIOTS MOVING FORWARD

Thanks to everyone who came out for the April 15th and on July 4th Tea Parties throughout the state. We had great turnout! Now it is time to keep the momentum moving forward as we head into the summer events and keep the tea party movement growing.

The tea party movement is at its heart and soul a grassroots movement. That means it can not be done without each and every one of you engaged in your community. April 15th and July 4th was such a success because patriots across the state joined and worked together for a common goal. As the movement moves forward and grows the organizational needs expand and more people will need to step forward and help out.

Goooh should join forces with kickthemallout.com

We need to start uniting like minded factions of the tea party group

      Right now I see a

      Republican Loyalist Faction

Take over and Usurp the Republican Party Current Leadership Faction

No Incumbents Faction – GOOOH and kickthemallout

      3rd party faction

      Umpire Stategy Faction

Liberal Constitutionist for reform of the Democratic Party

      Those were my thoughts

I don’t know where to leave my comment so I hope this works. I was in Washington DC (on different business) at the same time as your march on 9-12-09. I think you are all incredible and I wanted to point out an article in today’s Star Tribune paper (Octber 20, 09). The article talks about executive perks that keep rolling on at banks that received bailouts. I am in the process of writing to Franken, Klobuchar and Kline letting them know that I am so frustrated and I’m not the only one. I work for a government agency and we are NOT allowed to take even $10 as a perk or our job is on the line. Now, this is governement money that these banks received and they are giving out hundreds of thousands of dollars! I am sick to my stomach at what is happening to our country. God Bless America!

Somehoe we, the ordinary citizens regardless of aprty, need to find a way to enforce a rule upon legilatures. This being:
    1) You must fully ready the proposed legilation
    2) You must fully understand what it means, whar it benefits, and what is the downsides.
    3) You must sign and date this information as an attachment to the proposed legislation.
    4) You must include in writing your reasoning for passing the bill.

This is expected other professions, such as medical, education etc.
    This prevents “changing the story”.
This give the cisitaens anaccurate view of the legilators think process and confirms what they think is important or to be dismissed.

Secondly, all legilation must be available i its final form 30 days prior to passing. It must be on the internet and all citiawens should know how to access this. Some of this is available today, but needs to more widely known. If any legislation is voted on prior to 30 day wait period, must have some emergency reasoning, other than “we want it now”.

Any lefilation that causes a national debtr, must be approved by at least all State legilattions or, by a citizaens vote. We do not give permission to the legilatures to run up national debt on their ideas nor the ideas of special inteest.
One Bill is not good for all. It may help one part of the countyr and harm another. In those cases, the legilation must be done at the State level. The Federal Government may speak on the issue, but cannot mandate it for everyone.

The president cannot have a specialized staff to govern part of legislation, that is far too much power into a single person. This is step one to a dictator and a very close one at that.
It not the duty of a President to control individual issues with his “hinh men”.

The probale with this is, how does one get this into motion and make it winning issue?
How to get a apssive populace active? Maybe now with a lot of concerns rising on both the other parties, especially the Democarates, strike that – socialist dictators.

Note: I am an Independant today, because I follow that thoughts, not the dictate thoughts of the party.

Thanks for the rant space. Although, I really mean it and would work for it.

The better answer, Pat Hallocki, is to elect persons to office who are of the proper kind (e.g., of high integrity, having the same understanding and concern for the U.S. Constitution as do we, having care for free markets, seeking limited government). Your methods will surely fail.

If a politician that lacks integrity tells the voters that they have read the proposed legislation and understand it, how will anyone dispute this fact? And, if bad legislation passes despite these assertions, how will the assertions of the legislator make one whit of difference?

Furthermore, the Democrats — and, I fear, far too many Republicans — are content to have legislation written so vaguely as to be meaningless. Almost any desired “understanding” might be extrapolated from the reading of such bills. And, if a legislator gives his or her reasonings for the passing of any given piece of legislation, how will your proposition prevent others from corrupting the legislation to their own purposes. Surely our courts have done this repeatedly.

It is proper “character” we need for locks, contracts and promises are only good for keeping honest persons honest. They have little or no effect on corrupt persons.

Hi, I’m a true private practice physician (no third party payers) in Osakis, MN. Been here for 7 yrs. and focus on the uninsured/underinsured. Keeping the Feds OUT has been key to making health care more affordable for this group in particular.
Folks up here just don’t seem to understand how serious the current situation is. How can I get some Tea Party action going? Even my colleagues seem to be clueless. (Of course most of them are employees, and are just doing what they are told.)
If there is someplace I can speak or if there is something I can post in my office (besides the stuff from AAPS and takebackmedicine.com), please contact me.

Try the group “Conservatives for Patients Rights” located at conservativesforpatientsrights [dot] com. They have some PDF handouts you can print from their “Resources” page, and an Action Center page with a petition. They also have a video you can apply to offer screenings of called “End of Patients’ Rights”. You can contact them about that with the form on their Action Center page.

I am a practicing attorney, and deeply concerned about the whole power grab going on in our Federal Govt. I am a strait talking person critical of my own profession; never dreamed attorneys would be covering the backs of phone books. I was a local County Commissioner, and am rather familiar with how the politicians & bureaucrats work. I love my country, and know without question we must be heard LOUDLY. I will find time to participate with this group; and take steps to get things organized in Mankato, Mn. One more thing; anyone else notice that Govt. now has the best equipment and plenty of it? WE pay for it, and maintain, store, and insure it, etc. It appears it’s us versus them (the Govt.). Who would have ever thought… .

I would like to see people come together for a Census document burn. I will not fill out this socialist document being used to intimidate the American people. They have GPS location on you door and all your personal info. Lets stand up now and not make the same misstakes as others have by waiting to long. We can come together in groups at state parks and build a real grass roots movement.

BATTLE FOR THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF AMERICA

The Democrats out internetted the Republicans last election.

Now it appears they are out internetting us.

It appears that some orchestrated effort has front loaded the results for ”TEA PARTY” on digg.com with unflattering and/or fraudulent entries.

Please create a digg.com account. Search for ”TEA Party” on Digg.com. then simply go past the bogus entries and digg the legitimate tea party articles. Careful, someone has created a few bogus digg tea party entries that look real but provide bad or fraudulent PR. The first day it will probably only yet you do 4 or 5 diggs, wait a week and you should be able to do many more.

This will do 2 things, it will make good tea party results show up higher in the Digg.com search, more importantly it will increase rankings of the good articles in all search engines particularly, Google.

When people search ”TEA Party” we want them to find the real TEA Party articles, not the bogus propaganda.

We need people to see the real tea party to win converts.

    Thank you for your support.

    Keep fighting the good fight.

    Respectfully

I found out how to add items on Digg, which I think will be important to do:

“Submit your favorites. Find an article, image, or video online and submit it to Digg.com. Your submission will immediately appear in ‘Upcoming Stories,’ where other members can find it and, if they like it, Digg it.”

After logging into digg.com, click “Submit New” in the top navigation to get started. Be ready to paste your link.

      More info at: http://digg.com/how.

I am working with the Campaign for an American Solution to organize a grassroots effort in MN that promotes comprehensive health care reform that doesn’t include a gov’t run option. It is important that we engage as many Minnesotans as possible ASAP to contact Senator Klobuchar and our Congressional delegation via phone, letters, email and letters to the editor. I’m willing to help with everything on this project, including providing draft letters to revise and talking points.

I am asking as many people as possible to help our efforts as soon as possible. We want to make a difference early and often in this debate.

Please check out our web site and contact me if you are willing to help.
