I thought Dick Armey was going to be here; maybe it was just a rumor I heard. I really like him; what a great businessman. He has found a way to make millions of dollars organizing us, and getting us going and selling us T-shirts. Wasn't he in Congress or something?

I agree with Malary; very disappointed. I was expecting a bigger and angrier crowd. When are we going to take up the cause of getting our money back from Halliburton and Blackwater? We are swimming in debt and those Repub's put everything on the credit card? As Ron Paul said, we cannot afford any more years of "conservative GOP management". Also shouldn't we try to get the Patriot Act repealed?

What would you have recommended, Malary? And did you speak with those that left early to find out why?

I too was disappointed in the turnout compared to April, but what else could the presenters possibly do to make it better? I go because I am concerned about the current administration and the hell-hole that it's taking us, and right now I'm happy to make my voice heard in the open by going to Tea Party rallies. I wish I could have gone to DC, as I'm sure others do as well.

I don't always agree with everything the speakers say at our local rallies, but right now it's all we've got. I've been writing and phoning my representatives (but they ignore me), I blog, I donate to the opposition, and I go to Tea Parties. What do you suggest to make it better?

P.S. Change the music at these rallies. Make it a little more varied and more patriotic, and not so loud. :)

P.P.S. I personally find the site confusing, and very hard to negotiate. I end up searching and wandering through pages and pages just to get info, and then can’t find my way back or out. Can you streamline it in any way? I feel I’m missing out on important information. I'm used to vBulletin boards where I can keep track of all the discussions at a glance, or choose just the threads with the most current replies. I may just have to stick to them. Thanks.

I understand what you are saying, Malary, but I can also see the need for some levity at this point. I was there and the rally consisted of some very fine speakers, especially Bradlee, as well as Marjorie who gave a great overview of the Constitution, and I also appreciated the speaker who outlined ten things to know in the latest healthcare bill. The song at the end was funny, catchy, and my kids are still humming it around the house. We are certainly living in tremulous times so a little lightheartedness is a good thing here and there to help ease some of the stress. "A merry heart makes good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones." - Prov.17:22

I would just like to express my extreme disappointment in the St. Paul Tea Party. I went there because I have Real concerns and Real frustrations with the way things are going in this country and I really thought these tea parties might make a difference. Instead, when I got there and saw they had turned it into a big joke I felt insulted. How can we expect to be taken seriously with the types of ridiculous performances I saw at the Capitol yesterday. "Cap'n Trade" and the guy in the chicken suit? Come On! And what was with that song? Every person in that crowd and everyone who feels strongly about the issues were all single-handedly discredited by that presentation. Our country is not a gimmick. The Constitution is not a gimmick. Our rallies shouldn't be either. I know I'm not the only person who feels this way because in the short time I was there I saw several groups of people leave, almost all of them looking about as pleased as I felt. Please, if we really want to be listened to, if we really want people to pay attention to us, we should first and foremost take 'ourselves' seriously.
