Dear WhatAJoke,
Spelling correctly actually has more to do with visual memory than intelligence. As a teacher, I have seen time and time again that even the smartest students can have trouble spelling correctly on a consistent basis. Besides, most conservatives are commenting on these sites in a hurry because they spend so much of their time WORKING! Stick to the facts. This is what the current administration is failing to do. It just proves they really don’t have a leg to stand on. If you don’t agree with someone, research your view points and back them up with facts. Otherwise, don’t bother writing. By the way, you forgot the “m” in “much,” mistakenly put an “a” instead of an “e” in the word “sentence,” and omitted “of” in the last sentence of your second “point.”
OK Amber what facts do you want?
1. The US pays more for health care than any other industrialized nation
2. We have a higher infant mortality rate than 30 other countries
3. We have a lower life expectancy than 20 other countries including those socialist Brits (bastards if I would have known they were socialists, we never would have pulled them into the coalition of the willing)
4. Insurance companies that offer health care have a > 30% margin for doing what exactly (please answer miss teacher)
5. Tell me exactly how you protested when we put a trillion dollars on the credit card to go after a country that had nothing to do with 911; be specific please; 100 words or less
6. The illiteracy rate, welfare % rate, unwed pregnancies, higher divorce rate are on average higher in red states than blue states.
Give me more facts Amber.
Hi Sanja,
I will give you a couple of facts regarding # 6. Red states are doing better economically than Blue states. They so not saddle their states with extemely high taxes, their housing markets have remained more stable and jobs more abundant than blue states. Look at certain high profile blue states who tax their people to death and are bankrupt. This is because of the democratic state govt who likes to put their grubby little paws into everything. They will pat you on your back (as they reach into your pocket) and tell you that they know what is best for you. You don’t worry your pretty little heads. The government will take care of you. I wonder how many in California are feeling taken care of right now with the out of control tax dollar spending that has led to their crash. Let Freedom and prosperity continue to ring in the Red states.
Tracy; How are you measuring “doing better economically” What metric are you looking at? Is it % above the poverty line? % unemployment? Publish the data.
What does “Freedom” you reference mean? Is there not a moral and social responsibility with a free society? You use California as an example but California takes 78 cents out of every dollar they pay to the Feds. New Mexico, Mississippi, Alabama, LA, KY, SC, all take more out than they give to the federal budget. Please look here:
http://www.taxfoundation.org/taxdata/show/266.html
Sorry Tracy but you have no facts only talking points you get on an opinion station.
Sanja,
You obviously are not an American from your name. The Red States are the leaders that’s why it is called the Red White and Blue. This means that the More Red states with White People will not leave you Blue.
Jesus is our true leader and he wants us to smite our enemies.
Judy, you ignorant hick. How can you tell something about someone by their name. It is people like you and Tracy that give our movement a bad name. We have way to much government corruption (lobbyists control the country and are spending way to much money to control the debates) we have lost our freedom (Patriot Act? Just another way for Big Brother to spy on us) Way to much corporate welfare (investigate Acorn, Halliburton, Lockeed; all of them) way to much on the credit card (Where is the oil money that we were supposed to get in Iraq). There is much to be concerned about including the greatly growing spread between the rich and the poor in this country. We don’t need you to fling someone’s religion into the mix as a democracy cannot work when there is “preferred” church. Grow up.
Hello. Insurance companies are a business. They exist to make a profit. If the government didn’t put their hand in EVERYTHING, maybe we could get better insurance. At least Ms. Bachmann is standing up against what the liberals in Washington are pushing on us. We are NOT a socialist country. We are a REPUBLIC and it’s time we take our country back! We’ve sat back too long and we have to get moving before it’s too late! Enough is Enough! No more government control. Stand up for FREEDOM!
Pat, please don’t drive on a public road, or listen to the FCC monitored radio on your way to the rally because it will play into their socialist games. Support the elimination of the VA and Medicare! Public insurance cannot compete with private insurance; where is the money
UHG has recovered very nicely.
I just heard about this a few minutes ago on KTNF 950 am. I’m thinking about going up there under the guise of an independent researcher or as a college student (which I actually am) saying I am doing research for a project and asking questions like; do you know the actual percentage of overhead of a)private insurance, b)Social Security and c) Medicare and do you know whether the Boston Tea Party was the opening shot so to speak of the American Revolution? Basically I would attempt to get these people to actually think and do some impartial research instead of just suckling at the sugary teat of FOX (I refuse to call it FOX News because its not news any more than the National Enquirer is truthful news).
The answers to the above questions are as follows; Question 1 a) 29% is what goes for executive salaries, private jets and other perks which when you add in other cost is actually around 40% b) nine tenths of one percent c) 3%. Question
2 ) The Boston Tea party which took place on December 16, 1773 was not the opening of the Revolutions as I have heard so many tea baggers claim. The actual shooting war started on April 19, 1775 in Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
In case I don’t make it up there, feel free to give this a try. You can pretend you are playing a new game show called, “Stump A Tea Bagger”.
I can tell you are a young college student. You are misinformed about a lot of things. You may have your stats right on questions a and b but c was the start of the revolution. No shots were fired that day. Just good old fashion protesting over an over bearing ruler who taxed the hell out of the colonists. As far as Fox News, they are the only ones addressing the real stories that main stream media won’t touch because it makes their guy look the fool and liar he really is. Not to mention all the extremist groups and people he associates with. But since you are a college student you would not know this…why? Because the colleges are filled with liberal professors who fill young minds with crap instead of letting you use your own brain. My kids are perfect examples. They come home from college filled with all this liberal propaganda and tell me how awful everyone else is. Then I tell them to research for themselves before they believe what their professors are telling them. 9 times out of 10 they find out the truth is nothing at all what they where told in class. So please mister, I am so smart college student, come on down and learn something for yourself before you dump all over anyone standing up for their right to be heard.
Dawn is right, Rory we are over taxed. Minnesota Tax payers are responsible for $21.8 Billion just for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. That could pay for over 6 Million people for average health care for one year. You have to get involved and be heard, because you will be left with nothing, as Dawn says. Yes you will find liberals and conservatives in college, typically they will be passionate and intelligent about their position because they have formed their opinion instead of someone else giving it to them. Rory, you and your fellow students will be left with nothing if insurance companies maintain their 30% margins for keeping you from your doctor. Dawn is 100% right, make your own opinions, don’t just parrot what you hear on TV or from you parents or teachers; Be informed.
Dawn,
I should have mentioned that I am also 42 and am raising two teenage sons. Most of what I know of the current situation in this country comes not from “liberal” professors (I am a Medical Assistant major. None of my teachers or classes address politics) but from life experience. I have seen many administrations in my time. At least the current one is trying to do a decent thing (contrary to what you may think) in comparison to his predecessor. As far as FOX, I still contend it’s not legitimate news but a circus. No, its not even that but a platform for it’s owner, Rupert Murdoch to further his agenda. Lets cut the crap about the “liberal” media right here and now. How can it be liberal when over 80% is owned by large corporations? Do you consider companies like Viacom and Time Warner to be liberal? By “their guy” I assume you mean the President. From I hear on a daily basis, the press has not been favorable to Obama since the election and with over 400 right wing talk radio and TV personalities, he isn’t getting any love from them either. The so called extremists Obama “associates with” were just more garbage trumped before the election (proves my assertions about what the press really is.) Mud slinging just shows what a particular party is all about. It’s a tactic when they don’t have any real solutions to the problems.
So you seem to agree with numbers about health care. Why then do you go along with all this protesting of a public option? Its not intended to put private insurance out of business just give them some much needed competition. Would you argue that competition is part of capitalism? As far as the actual start of the revolution, as a history geek I would say that, compared to other conflicts throughout history, a shooting war doesn’t officially start until the shooting does. Dumping something overboard doesn’t count but let’s not get involved in semantics.
I use my brain thank you very much and I teach my kids to do research and to also think for themselves. Maybe your children know something you refuse to see. Dawn, as a person who doesn’t affiliate himself with either of the major parties I want to say that the real battles isn’t between left and right, conservative and liberal or Democrat and Republican. The real battle is a class war and the combatants are the 2 to 5% of the population that has concentrated the wealth over the last 30 to 40 years versus the rest of us who are trying to keep our heads above water. You and I are probably not that different. I left a message on this site because I am disgusted by what the “elite” (I hate to give those people that title because it means the best and they are hardly our best) have been doing to the average citizen of this country. My family has been here since the mid 1650’s. Many of my ancestors served in the military from the Revolution through Vietnam. One of us has his name on the Vietnam Memorial in Washington. I feel I am as American as anyone and like you I am pissed beyond words at what has happened to this country but I have learned that the source of the problem is not the current president but the people I mentioned above.
My son has also read what you have put up, and leaves the following: “Dawn, with all due respect, I am as full of vim and vigor as my dad, and if you really want to continue discussing the course of this country, even if you are presumably several years my senior, I suggest you email me at darqlink51@yahoo.com. My dad is a great man, and if I were to be as conservative as you, I’m sure he would allow it. Unfortunately, again, with respect, it seems as if you don’t afford your children the same luxury. Best, Adam.”
Is this the thing that Dick Armey and his Freedomworks group are making millions of dollars off suckers…I mean people..that don’t really understand what they are protesting but they buy shirts, stickers and signs and Dick is laughing all the way to the ATM?
Dean you are so wrong. We don’t have to buy the signs and shirts of support but we want to support great companies that sponsor and are helping us make up our mind to not become nazies and stuff like that. I don’t care if a lot of people are making money off of me; it is kind of like going to a rock concert and getting a souvenir, isn’t it? I mean, come on. 9-11 was a time when we all got together as a country and we went to Iraq and get the muslims that attacked us.
Gee Karen, glad to see you know history with the Saddam and Bin Laden connection. What color is your favorite Unicorn?
I agree, grammar is way important. We should have literacy tests at polls. And those white dudes who wrote the Constitution. Whoa, they couldn’t spel anyting corectly. The “s” on thier keyboard was broke so they used the “f”. I can’t find any of them @ facebook–fools. Democracy, capitalism, prosperity and common sense are so “back then”.
I will not miss this opportunity to express my displeasure with the nonrepresentation ms bachmann has provided to me as a citizen of mn 7th district. Where were all the calls to control spending, preserve constitutional rights and personal freedom during gop administrations?
Look at the tally of national debt. You will find the vast majority of that debt was amassed during gop administrations. Look at legislation and executive actions that infringe upon individuals rights such as privacy (illegal phone taps et al), free speech (excluding non supporters from tax paid events et al)and right to public assembly (arresting peacful protesters et al). All of which happened in mn and across the nation. How can gop supporters be so blind?
Fact is they are not blind. They see full well what there policies do individuals and continue such policies with zeal because they have theirs and the hell with the rest of us.
Look closely at what bachmann puts forth. Tort reform is a givaway to insurance companies. Truth is most litigation occures when one insurance company does not want to pay a claim so they look for another “responsible party” to blame. Also look at the way she and gop argue that the government can’t do anything right, yet a government run insurance option will cause insurance companies to fail. You can’t have it both ways.
As far as teabaggers go, I doubt that many could accurately represent the tax policy that trigger the original boston tea party.
lot of love

Campaign Finance Reform
To stop the corruption of our political system and return the power of government back to the people I/we deem it necessary to reform the way political campaigns are financed. It has become abundantly clear over the past 30 years that our politicians have become bought and paid for by special interest groups on both sides of the isle and in all branches of government from local, state and to the federal government.
We have come up with a simple and an easily understood way to reform the way campaigns are funded. So easy in fact that there is NO room for misunderstanding by anyone, not even politicians.
1) All money raised for a congressional campaign must be raised in the District that the seat is open in. The limit of funds raised will be set at $3,000,000 for any seat. Any funds not spent on the campaign will be, a) returned to the contributors or b) given to charity. Any money that comes in over the allowable amount shall be returned to the contributor.
Every candidate must hold free and open town hall meetings. Minimum number is, Congress 12, Senate 12, President 24
2) All money raised for a Senate seat must be raised in the state the seat is open in. The limit of funds raised will be set at $10,000,000 for any seat. Any funds not spent on the campaign will be, a) returned to the contributors or b) given to charity. Any money that comes in over the allowable amount shall be returned to the contributor.
3) Presidential campaigns can raise money in all 50 states. NO out of country contributions are allowed. The money raised is limited to $80,000,000.00. Any money that is not spent on the campaign will be, a) returned to the contributors or b) given to charity. Any money that comes in over the allowable amount shall be returned to the contributor.
4) Any and all political TV ads are to have the candidate talking or appearing in them. There will be NO narrators or commentators used in any ads.
5) All published or written ads must be signed and approved by the candidate
6) NO outside party or person may run an ad for a candidate or against a candidate. They may however endorse a candidate.
7) All candidates are solely responsible for the content of their ads and can be held libel for any misinformation or lies.
9) The limit of campaign contributions is $2,000.00 per ANY contributor. Personal, Business, organization or nonprofit.
10) No entity receiving money or contracts from the Government can be a contributor to any campaign.

Hey Jeff Jarrett, how much in federal dairy subsidies has your family raked in over the years? As much as your hero “Michelle”? (sic) Sounds like Socialized Farming to me.
Thank goodness he gets subsidies or your milk prices would be $5.00 per gal….. you have to look at both sides sometimes……
Doug
You are telling us that the milk subsidies are over two dollars per gallon?!?!?!
Reading the comments here was a HOOT! It sounds like a Convention for the Developmentally Challenged. Given these examples of grammar and spelling one is forced to believe that either: 1. Tea Baggers have been home schooled by morons, or, 2. They are mostly illegal aliens. Or…3. Check-out, (Google)… Stearns County Syndrome, and then check-out “teabagging”.
Thanks for the laughs. LOL
Nope…. not home schooled……… Just another fine product of Government Run Public Education……….. Just one more feather in the hats of the “ONE SIZE FITS ALL” mentality of the left…..
Is your period key broken? For a site that champions fighting the “erosion” of our society, it appears as though the followers feel blase about the erosion of our common language.
I think more than anything else, D.Day brings up a good point here. If people don’t realize that they are making such blatant errors in their writing, it can tell us a couple of things about the people leaving these comments.
1. They truly are uneducated, or under-educated. In this case, any person with some semblance of intelligence would pick up on the fact that they likely don’t understand the issues they are commenting on, because it is apparent that they don’t read and write enough regarding them to convey a remark of any consequence.
2. They emotionally invested in the issue past the point of caring. This calls into question their ability to separate emotion from rational thought. Should somebody who is too emotionally worked up to check their spelling and sentance structure really be given the credit of having thought any issue through? Logic would tell us they likely responded to the issue in just as hasty and reactionary of a fashion, without taking the time to check any facts uch less spelling. Simply put: Patterns often repeat, especially in the habits human beings.
3. They are simply lazy. Are these the people who represent the same values as you do?
What side of the fence do you fall on, and who is on the same side as you? Do you think they know the issues? Do they really know what is at stake in our current political situation? I could be wrong, but I’m convinced by this site (and others like it) that they truly don’t understand it. It appears that many here are simply whipped up in the firestorm that’s being fashioned in the political realm right now.
I would be embarrassed to be a part of the “teabag” movement. It really makes me sad to think that fellow Americans are buying into this rubbish.
I’ll give a pat on the back to whoever can find my “errors.” I sincerely hope you can find them.
Will you guys actually be doing a little tea-bagging? Can I join in?
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=teabagger
How will they be able top fit all those clowns in the Clown Car???
I am from Mankato, and will be coming to the gathering. Please, someone post directions. This may sound silly-but is it safe to assume Lake George IS a lake? We will be coming from the South on hiway 15. Is Lake George hard to find? Thank you; and it will be nice to have Ms. Backmann there. All of us must know she has made her common sense positions known on a National basis. Nice to have someone representing us who is not wishy washy like the others. Let us be courteous and clear on where we stand together.
Take Hwy 15 into St. Cloud off of I-94. Turn right on Division (MN Hwy 23) head east to 12th Ave South, Lake George will be on the left. I know some one told you it was at the intersection of 9th Ave , however that intersection is messed up. If you Mapquest St. Cloud, zoom in on Division at 9th Ave and 12th Ave. You will see where I am talking about. I hope this helps you.
I will check your directions out. Thank you.Hope to meet you at the Tea Party.
Letter I sent to Michelle today:
Hi Michelle:
I have been working hard to find as many events to go to defend the US Constitution from the Obama administration’s policy measures. The creation of an even larger executive branch without regard to constitutional provisions on checks and balances is creating an “America” that I don’t recognize. I have heard that you will be hosting an event in Saint Cloud that I would love to attend and show my support.
I am new to Minnesota and am excited to know that my family has the protection of your views in Congress. My fiancé grew up on a dairy farm in Stearns County that has been in her family for the past 150 years. As such, I have spent the past several months listening to DFL supporters and trying to comprehend why there is any alignment with the Obama administration.
The health care, education, environment, regulatory, and social systems being erected under the guise of morality are an injustice to the foundation of our country. The liberties being challenged are vital to what makes us American and if the progressives have their way will be eroded in the name of freedom. The Patriot Act started this mess and the current administration continues to move forward in regulating ever more areas of our lives.
I fear that many here in Minnesota (DFL) have been victims of the status quo in following blindly an elitist and radical leftist movement that bears no semblance to the DFL of yesterday.
Minnesotans need to wake up and realize that the DNC does not equal the DFL and that the policies of the elitist Ivy League politicians and Hollywood idealists will do more to strengthen the hold of government on the daily lives of Minnesotans than allow what we all truly want most which is the opportunity to provide for our families, to worship our God as we see fit, and to protect our families from all enemies both foreign and domestic.
Senators Klobuchar and Franken have not returned letters or emails with regard to DFL and DNC alignment and I doubt that they will.
Please confirm Saint Cloud visit and let me know how I can ask a question during your visit.
Kind regards,
Jeff Jarrett
DEAR Gov;
You and the others are going to break the country that we fought so hard to protect;
some people try to tell me that this is like the first depession—Not so__
toda we have unemployment insurance—-It has been extended a number of time
It hurts when i listen to young men who say unemployment pays me just $18.00
aweek les than i made at the job—Where is your pride? During the first depression you looked for a job–Work or starve
I want to be at Bachmann’s tea party is St Cloud. Is Ron Paul going to be there with her? Where is Lake George?
Lake George is right off Division St and 9th ave. Where would you be comming from?
Please keep me informed. I will not be able to attend this town hall, because I like many Americans must work. I would like a transcript of the meeting emailed to me, if possible.
Respectfully,
Shawn L. Howren
